Look to the left, look to the right;
Everyone's spoiling for a fight.
Kneejerk with a rubber stamp;
Spit and swagger in either camp.
Slow to listen, quick to speak,
Never turn the other cheek,
Ignore the plank within your eye,
Never ask the question why...
The boys have gone the knuckle again,
Soon after they went drinking.
If you can do the hullaballoo,
It saves us all from thinking.
Turn off the grace, turn up the snark,
Add the conscience of a shark;
Lay the boots, go to town,
Beat the brow and shout them down.
Plug the ears and clench the fists,
This is jackboot politics:
Throwing shapes, splitting hairs,
Saving face while bashing theirs...
The boys have gone the knuckle again,
Soon after they went drinking.
If you can do the hullaballoo,
It saves us all from thinking.
“You're in the wrong; I'm in the right!”
So act the maggot and start the fight.
Point the finger, puff the chest,
Critical thinking is suppressed.
Lock your step with Party lines,
Shut your eyes, ignore the signs.
Repeat the mantra of Us and Them,
Circle the wagons and sing it again...
The boys have gone the knuckle again,
Soon after they went drinking.
If you can do the hullaballoo,
It saves us all from thinking.

Pass Around The Rum
03:29

A pirate's life is not for everyone;
Live hard, live free, and pass around the rum!
I sailed aboard a merchantman; the captain, he was cruel;
He worked us hard from dawn to dusk on a lousy cup o' gruel.
He'd flog us for the slightest cause, and treat us all like slaves
Until the day we picked him up and tossed him to the waves.
A pirate's life is not for everyone;
Live hard, live free, and pass around the rum!
What keeps a pirate plundering all the ships upon the sea?
It's our notorious fiscal irresponsibility:
We spend our gold on whores and rum, 'til all of it is spent,
Then it's off to sea to plunder again so we can pay the rent.
A pirate's life is not for everyone;
Live hard, live free, and pass around the rum!
We like to keep an odd display of pets aboard our ship:
A parrot on the shoulder, or a monkey on the hip.
Alas! It means we have to swab the deck of all the poop,
And if the larder's bare, then they might end up in the soup.
A pirate's life is not for everyone;
Live hard, live free, and pass around the rum!
We're a godless, lawless, lot of opportunists on the sea;
You'll never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy!
We're savage and unscrupulous, with a ruthless bag of tricks.
In short, we might've made a fine career in politics!
A pirate's life is not for everyone;
Live hard, live free, and pass around the rum!
The doctor, he's the hardest working member of our crew;
He patches all our severed parts, and anything else askew.
He fights to save our livers, keeps our teeth from turning black,
And keeps our tackles clean when there's an outbreak of the clap.
A pirate's life is not for everyone;
Live hard, live free, and pass around the rum!
From the isle of Madagascar and New Providence are we:
Tortuga and Port Royal and the coast of Barbary!
A scurrilous lot of psychopathic cutthroat malcontents –
Rather like the kind that run our modern governments!
A pirate's life is not for everyone;
Live hard, live free, and pass around the rum!

The Day I Beat McKluskey
04:16

It's a drop of the pure for courage, & it's Sláinte one & all!
I hit the bully on the nose, & made the bully fall.
The day I beat McKluskey, I could hold me head up high;
It's a day that I'll remember well until the day I die.
I'm not the biggest person, or the bravest that you'll meet,
But the bully called McKluskey is a terror in the street.
I try to mind me business and be kind to every soul,
But drunk or sober that McKluskey's nothing but a troll.
It's a drop of the pure for courage, & it's Sláinte one & all!
I hit the bully on the nose, & made the bully fall.
The day I beat McKluskey, I could hold me head up high;
It's a day that I'll remember well until the day I die.
Now I buys a bottle o' whiskey every Friday after work,
And walking home, I often find McKluskey with a smirk
Who grabs me by the ear or slams a fist into me nose,
Then takes the bottle o' whiskey & then off McKluskey goes!
It's a drop of the pure for courage, & it's Sláinte one & all!
I hit the bully on the nose, & made the bully fall.
The day I beat McKluskey, I could hold me head up high;
It's a day that I'll remember well until the day I die.
McKluskey was a stealthy one, and so I lived in fear;
I never knew if I were safe, or if that fiend was near.
Those freckled fists were somewhere waitin' for me face to beat;
McKluskey was the meanest twelve year old you'd ever meet!
It's a drop of the pure for courage, & it's Sláinte one & all!
I hit the bully on the nose, & made the bully fall.
The day I beat McKluskey, I could hold me head up high;
It's a day that I'll remember well until the day I die.
The day comes when enough's enough o' being pushed around.
I'd suffer no more shame with that McKluskey on the ground!
I took a drop o' the craythur for to hold me courage well,
For that Colleen McKluskey is a little girl from hell!
It's a drop of the pure for courage, & it's Sláinte one & all!
I hit the bully on the nose, & made the bully fall.
The day I beat McKluskey, I could hold me head up high;
It's a day that I'll remember well until the day I die.
McKluskey had it comin', but I had to be discreet.
And sure enough, I saw her waitin' for me on the street.
I punched her squarely in the nose, and knocked her from her chair,
Then wheeled it back around the alley & rolled it down the stair!
It's a drop of the pure for courage, & it's Sláinte one & all!
I hit the bully on the nose, & made the bully fall.
The day I beat McKluskey, I could hold me head up high;
It's a day that I'll remember well until the day I die.

Devil's Drink

Every day is almost St. Paddy's Day;
It's really not so far away,
So let's raise a pint, and keep sorrow at bay!
Every day is almost St. Paddy's Day!
We've all had those days when you just want to quit,
And you look at your life, and it's a big pile of
Shame and regret; you want to drink 'til you're smashed,
And tell the whole world it can kiss my sweet mother.
But take courage my friend; it isn't the end! 'Cause...
Every day is almost St. Paddy's Day;
It's really not so far away,
So let's raise a pint, and keep sorrow at bay!
Every day is almost St. Paddy's Day!
The foreman, he swaggers with a stout walking stick,
And I'd just love to tell him that he's such a
Decent and kind man that we all adore!
But his wife it is rumored is a terrible cook.
So fill up your glass, and let's do it with class! 'Cause...
Every day is almost St. Paddy's Day;
It's really not so far away,
So let's raise a pint, and keep sorrow at bay!
Every day is almost St. Paddy's Day!
At the end of the night, whiskey's muddled our wits,
So we ask all the women to show us their
True thoughts and feelings, so we can relate.
Then we go home alone and we master our fears.
Now sing out, me mate, and let's celebrate! 'Cause...
Every day is almost St. Paddy's Day;
It's really not so far away,
So let's raise a pint, and keep sorrow at bay!
Every day is almost St. Paddy's Day!
